Speaking about the events John Ellis, National Fisheries & Angling Manager, Canal & River Trust said “The Canal Pairs has proven incredibly popular in recent years, bringing some of the country’s top talent to canals across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

“Canals offer fantastic angling and we’re anticipating lots of interest for this year’s events, so people should book their places quickly to avoid disappointment.

“With support from our partners at the Angling Trust as well as sponsors Dynamite Baits we hope that this year’s Championships will be a real celebration of all that’s great about canal angling.”

James Lewis Competitions Development Manager, Angling Trust added “The Canal Pairs continues to grow from strength to strength and this year we’ve added more qualifiers to accommodate new, exciting, stretches of canal. I was lucky enough to quailfy and fish the final with my dad last year and it was one of my best matches of the season”
