TOTAL Fishing’s self-styled group of sea anglers had yet another ‘meet’ on the weekend of March 22nd.
Top International casters Roger Mortimore and Barney Wright were in attendance and gave casting demonstrations and individual tuition throughout the day. The venue was Hayling Island and the target fish? Those red-spotted beauties – plaice, plaice and with luck more plaice.

Some 25 TSFSC turned up and a good time was had by all. They especially enjoyed the now traditional full English breakfast at the Breakwater cafe and a pint after the fishing in the Lifeboat Inn.

The group was set up 18 months ago and has met regularly at venues such as Anglesey, Dungeness, Selsey and Pevensey Bay.

Anyone can join in. There are no fees and no competitions just friendly advice, banter and the occasional barbeque thrown in…. not to mention the unexpected full moon at mid-day courtesy ‘Luggsy’!

The most successful angler on Saturday was Lee Campbell (‘Tacklerat’) who smuggled a 2lb plaice into the Lifeboat Pub well after ‘time’ was called….. hmmmmm!
