FANCY taking on the USA in a new ‘Brits versus Yanks’ shark tournament, rubbing shoulders with angling celebrities and getting on TV at the same time? If you do, we may have found just the thing.

Tailormade Holidays, backed by Long Island Lighthouse Safaris and the New York State Tourist department, are throwing their combined weight behind a new televised catch and release shark extravanganza taking place off New York in mid to late June this year.

The Americans have thrown down the gauntlet to battle it out for the so called Friendlies Cup  off the fabulous Montauk Yacht Club in Long Island, and among those fishing for the Brits are celebrities Keith Arthur and shore international Alan Yates.

The event will be screened on Sky Sports’ Tight Lines show and throughout the USA, covering three days of fishing for mako, hammerhead, thresher and blue shark.

It’s teams of 20 and there are still places up for grabs on the Brits team, on a first come first served basis, with the price of £2300 covering travel, transfers, fishing and luxury accommodation at the Montauk Yacht Club.

It all takes place from June 19th to 26th, and you can find out more about the accomodation at wwww.MontaukYachtClub.com.
