THE Carp Society’s flagship water, Horseshoe Lake in the Cotswolds, has produced a new lake record of 40lb 14oz to Joe Easton.

The fish came from the Sandbags swim in the deeper ‘Winter Bay‘ half of the lake, which is known for its stocks of Leney carp.

Meanwhile news reaches us that RMC’s Amwell Lake, a syndicate water situated in the Lea Valley, Herts, has thrown up its first 40lb plus carp in the shape of a fish called Jaffa at 40lb 4oz.

Nick Axten Rice caught the mighty carp from the gate swim. Jaffa weighed only 33lb when caught earlier in the season, so is obviously enjoying herself there!
