For the first time since 1993, a fresh (sea-liced) spring salmon has been taken on February 1st. And it was a first ever salmon as well!!!!
Caught by Jan Krempek (a Lodge employee for only two days),it was taken on spinner from the Hut Pool on Beat 8 (
Even more interestingly, there were a number of fresh springers to 12-14lb. seen on the lower beats during the day, which shows that there is quite a good run of springers coming in.
There are still plenty of rods & accommodation available during February with the special spring offer of free fishing for the month.
