FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS It was a little harder this week with match weights to over 80lb best. The weather has been very up and down making it difficult on some days and better on others. Carp to 17lb have featured in catches and quite a few doubles have been caught by pleasure anglers targeting these with boilies or off the top. The F1’s have been caught better on the pole and pellet fished on the deck at 10 – 13 metres. Crucians have been showing quite well with fish to 2lb being caught. Best areas have been pegs 2, 4, 8 – 15, 21, 27 – 29, 39 – 46 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS Fished well in the middle of the week with nets to over 120lb on the bomb and pellet but the cooler weather and heavy rain saw sport drop a little at the weekend. Carp to 19lb have been caught with the bigger fish coming to boilies and a PVA bag fished out to the middle stumps. In the matches, method feeder or bomb and pellet are the top tactics. Best pegs have been 1, 9, 11 – 13, 16, 19, 20 – 24, 27, 30 and 37.

LITTLE GEARYS Still very consistent but weights have been down a little over the past week. F1’s carp, crucians and skimmers have provided the bulk of the catches with pole and banded pellet, expander or caster working best. Pellet feeder fished tight to the island is also worth trying at the moment. Best pegs are 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 – 15, 21 and 25 – 28.

GRATUITIES Lots of crucians are being caught on the pole with caster or soft pellet on the hook with fish from 12oz – 1½lb being caught. Carp are coming to the pellet waggler or pellet feeder fished tight up to the island during the day and down the margins on corn or meat in the evenings. Best pegs are 1 – 4, 8, 9 and 15.

ANNIVERSARIES Lots of F1’s coming to the pole and pellet fished over micros with fish in the 8oz – 1½lb range in pleasure nets to 70lb. Tench to 4lb, skimmers to 2lb and the odd double figure carp have also been out this week. Best pegs are 1 – 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17 and

21 – 23.

SIBLINGS A The pegs along the causeway from 17 – 22 have been in the best form finding nets of carp and F1’s on pole fished meat, corn or pellet and the tighter you fish up to the island the better. In the evenings, down the margins have produced some lumps with fish to double figures coming to meat.
