FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 6/1/13

Last week there were 93 rods caught 190 fish for an average of 2.04.
The milder conditions saw more anglers venture out last week and most were rewarded with some fish although flat calm weather made sport a little more difficult than of late.

The best fish of the week was an 8lb 4oz rainbow caught by Barry Waring of Coventry who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and he took it on a Cats Whisker.  Eddie Smith of Coventry returned a brown of 7lb whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and this fell to a Diawl Bach fished on a floating line.  John Considine of Leicester fished from the bank on Cocks Close and caught and returned seven fish to 5lb which all came to a Gold Head Damsel.
On the members’ waters, Park Meadow, Gary Cooper of Sutton Coldfield caught seven fish to 4lb on a white Lure.

The best flies are Cats Whisker, black and green Tadpole, Fritz Lures, Gold Head Damsel, Bloodworm and black Buzzer.  There were a lot of fish moving on Cocks Close, particularly in the afternoon and a few fish even fell to black dry flies.               Best areas are the wires bank and high bank on Cocks Close.
