REPORT

MOLANDS   The high pressure and cold nights have made for a very moody Molands this week.  Anglers fishing later in the day have enjoyed the best sport with the F1’s in particular feeding better in the late afternoons.  Some cracking carp have been caught with a number of high doubles topped by a 21lb 8oz caught in Wednesday’s open.  Waggler with 8mm pellet is accounting for the bigger fish.  Maggot feeder or maggot fished down the margins is working best for F1’s.  Top pegs are 2, 12 – 15, 25 – 33, 42 – 46 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS   Like all the pools at the moment the fishing has been quite hard with the cooler temperatures seeing the carp switch off.  Good nets of skimmers being caught from most areas with fish to 3lb making up bags to 30lb on cage feeder with caster or pole fished maggot or caster, bomb and bread the best approach for carp to double figures.  Best pegs 7 – 12, 16 and 19.

LITTLE GEARYS   As with Molands the later you fish the more you will catch with an afternoon knock up seeing a good weight close to 100lb last week.  The fish move into the margins later on and maggot or pellet fished tight in are accounting for F1’s to 5lb and a few carp to 10lb.  Maggot feeder is still working and probably the best tactic during the early parts of the day.  Best pegs 1, 5, 7 – 14, 21 and 26 – 28.

WILLOW   Waggler or a small pellet feeder fished across to the island is catching F1’s and small carp.  Bread or corn down the margins is accounting for the better sized carp with fish to double figures falling to this.  Best pegs 2, 5, 6 and 13.

SIBLINGS A   Still a little patchy but some good carp to double figures have shown this week along with plenty of small F1’s and ide.  Fishing right across to the island with corn, pellet or maggot feeding micros is the best approach.  Best pegs 1 – 5, 9, 15 and 17.

SIBLINGS B   The most consistent area is around pegs 8 – 11 with carp to double figures and lots of F1’s showing on this area.  Pole fished pellet or maggot is the main approach but on the other areas anglers have enjoyed success on small feeders.
