FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS The very cold unseasonal weather has seen sport drop off, particularly in the matches where around 50lb only was needed to frame. The bigger carp have been going well though with lots of doubles and fish just short of 20lb were best. Boilies fished over pellets fished across to the far bank has been the best tactic for the bigger fish. In the matches, waggler or bomb with pellet, method feeder with wafter and long pole with pellet or maggot has been best.

GEARYS Fished very hard this week with the shallow water of Gearys not liking the consistent overnight frost and cold winds. Carp to 18lb have been caught in matches and carp anglers have caught bags of up to 10 fish on boilies or wafter fished at range. Bomb or pellet have been the winning tactic in matches with weights to around 60lb best.

LITTLE GEARYS Like all of the pools, it has been tough on Little Gearys with nets to around 50lb best, mainly been made up of F1s from 1 – 4lb but the odd double figure carp have featured in catches. Waggler with corn, pellet to the island, long pole with pellet or maggot at 14.5 metres and later in the day down the margins with meat or pellet have been the better tactics.

GRATUITIES Carp to double figures have been showing this week to waggler or bomb with pellet, wafter or bread up against the island working best for carp. There are plenty of silvers to be had on caster or maggot fished down the middle over micros or ground bait.

ANNIVERSARIES The best pool over the last week with lots of F1s from 8oz – 4lb showing and most pegs capable of producing decent catches. Pole fished pellet, paste and maggot have been the top tactics but on the warmer periods, a small pellet waggler has been very affective.

WILLOW Patchy on Willow but pegs 1 – 5 have produced good catches fishing tight up to the island with pellet feeder or waggler catching carp and F1s. Later in the day, corn or meat fished down the margins are picking out some bigger carp with fish to 17lb reported last week.

SIBLINGS A Nets to around 50lb best but generally it has been quite difficult on Siblings ‘A’ and the fish are shoaling on a few pegs with 13 – 19 the most consistent area. Pellet, corn or maggot fished across to the island or down the middle has been the better approach.

SIBLINGS B A little more consistent than the other pools with plenty of F1s coming to pole fished pellet or maggot down the middle or close in later in the day. Some carp are coming to bread dobbed across to the far bank with fish to around 10lb best on this method.
