FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS The hot weather certainly put the F1s off the feed but the carp were still willing to feed and fish to 23lb were caught last week. In the matches nets to over 100lb were best with pellet waggler, bomb or a small method fished across to the island with 8mm pellets was the top tactic. Mugging carp on the pole and down the margins with worm or pellet has also accounted for decent bags. Pleasure anglers have caught plenty of carp off the top with dog biscuit or bread the top baits for surface fishing.

GEARYS Despite the really hot weather decent catches of carp were caught this week with pleasure and match nets to over 100lb. Pleasure anglers have caught best off the top with dog biscuit and this has accounted for fish to 20lb. In the matches mugging has worked well and the bomb or waggler with 8mm pellet is also producing decent catches. The best area has been the high bank from pegs 6 – 15 and 21 – 27 at the top end.

LITTLE GEARYS Little Gearys was tough last week with the hot weather seeing a pea green algal bloom and the F1s switching off. Nets to around 60lb best but fish were caught from all around the pool. The carp were coming to shallow tactics, pellet waggler or mugging with the better nets coming to caster shallow or down the edges with pellet or dead reds.

GRATUITIES Carp to double figures coming to anglers fishing surface baits or shallow with pellet waggler and 8mm pellets. Later in the day, fishing down the edges has been good with carp coming to corn, paste or pellet fished over micros.

WILLOW The most consistent pool this week with carp and F1s showing well all around the pool. Long pole with pellet, dead reds or caster fishing down the margins or across to the island where you can reach has been successful. Waggler up to the island has also produced decent nets this week.

ANNIVERSARIES Plenty of shade on Annies and the F1s have fed a little and better on there. Pole fished caster or pellet fishing down the margins or shallow has been the best approach. Some nice carp coming to surface baits or shallow with fish to 18lb reported this week.

SIBLINGS A Like all of the F1 pools the fishing has been a lot more difficult in the extreme heat. The best approach has been to fish tight across to the island or down the margins where the F1s enjoy the cover and paste, corn, caster and pellet have all caught fish there. The carp are happier to be around the pool and mugging tactics or shallow pole and pellet have accounted for fish to double figures.

SIBLINGS B Similar to Siblings A with fishing up to the reeds, across to the island or close in down the margins have been the best chances. Catches to around 90lb were best but generally fishing harder during the hot spell. Caster, pellet or paste have been the top baits.
