FISHERY REPORT

GEARYS Fished very well last week with carp to 20lb reported and match nets to 127lb. Pegs 9 to 21 were in the best form with good numbers of carp being caught to a variety of tactics. Bomb with 8mm pellet or tish flavoured boilies ,pole at around 10 – 13 metres feedind 6mm then fishing a bigger pellet over the top and down the margins with corn or dead red maggots have all worked well. Skimmers to 3lb and lots of roach showing for the silver fish anglers with maggot or caster over a sweet groundbait best.

LITTLE GEARYS Fished a lot better this week with the F1s switching back on and nets to around 140lb were best. Pole fished maggot or pellet long and short was the best tactic but a small pellet feeder or waggler to the island also produced a few fish including some better sized carp. Pegs 5 – 15 and 23-29 have been the most consistent areas.

ANNIVERSARIES The pegs from 1 -6 and 19 – 23 have been in the best form with nets to 85lb this week although sport nosedived after it turned cooler on Thursday. Pole with maggot ,caster and pellet have been the main approach but a small pellet or maggot feeder fished in the open water has also been catching.

SIBLINGS A Very up and down this week with nets to 60lb one day and the fishing very hard the next. Carp have been the main target and pole fished bread dobbed across to the island or pellet down the middle have accounted for fish into double figures. The F1s are coming best to frugal water tactics, putting in a few micros and fishing an expander over the top.
