FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS The introduction of the new F1s, early last week transfomed the fishing and it has been excellent since. Match weights to over 130lb with decent back up weights taken from all around the pool. The new fish have spurned the old into feeding with F1s to 8lb showing. Pole fished pellet or maggot has been the top tactic but maggot feeder and pellet feeder have also worked well.

GEARYS Still fishing ok with carp to 20lb and bream to 4lb featuring in nets. Steve Bellion included a 20lb in his 153lb which won Sundays Winter League and he caught them on pole and pellet at 13 metres. Other tactics that have worked have been bomb and pellet/bread or boilies, method feeder and for the silver fish, maggot and expander pellet over micros. The deeper water along the high bank from pegs 7 – 10 and 16 – 19 have been the best areas.

LITTLE GEARYS A lot more consistent with nets to around 80lb best but decent catches being had all around the pool. Maggot or pellet on the pole at 13 metres or close in at five metres has been the top tactic for the F1s. Carp to double figures are being caught tight to the island on bomb with bread/pellet or a small pellet/method feeder.

WILLOW Nets to around 40lb best this week, generally made up of F1s to 4lb and the odd carp to 10lb. Maggot or pellet fished down the margins or out at 13 metres has been the most consistent approach but a small waggler or feeder to the island is also worth a go.

ANNIVERSARIES Carp to double figures and F1s to 4lb have been the highlight of the catches this week in nets to around 40lb. Pole fished pellet or on the deck or shallow has worked best.

SIBLINGS A The water is very clear on Siblings A and it is making for patchy fishing although nets to 60lb have been caught, made up of the new F1s and carp to 18lb. Dobbing tactics have been the best approach with bread or 6mm pellet dobbed across to the island.

SIBLINGS B The better of the two Siblings pools with lots of F1s in the 1 – 3lb range being caught. Long or short pole with maggot or pellet is the best approach.
