The start of the match was delayed for breaking the ice on this the first day of winter. Phil Carline fished the pole and pellet Eskimo style though holes in the ice landing 10 carp – 5lb in the first half of the match finishing with 28lb 4oz, 4oz in front of his travelling partner Lee Placket, also fishing the pole and pellet he landed 11 carp all caught in the middle hour.

After the hard frosts of resent days the lake fished reasonably well with all anglers catching something, again at top of the list is Andy Lakey drawn at peg 39 he fished a small pellet feeder and pellet hook bait cast to the island for 31 carp – 6lb a one solitary 3lb bream putting a total of 71lb 7oz on the scales. In second place Nigel fished the pole and soft pellet out at 13m landing 37 carp – 6lb in his 68lb 9oz catch

Fishing peg to peg because the rest of the lake was froze up made the going hard, landing 15lb 7oz of skimmers and ide on the pole and maggot put John Holmes at the top with Dave Round in second landing 13lb 11oz of Ide on the pole and caster.
